Faith

I will lift up my eyes unto the hills, for whence cometh my help? My help cometh from the Lord; the maker of heaven and earth [Psalm 121:1-2]. That was a demonstration of faith by David while he was troubled. Another notable instance was the demonstration of strong faith by the three Hebrews ‘Shedrach, Meshach and Abed-nego’ against Nebuchadnezzer’s fury and his fiery furnace, “if it be so, our god whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace and He will deliver us from thy hand, O king” [Daniel 3:15], lo and behold, God delivered David and the three Hebrews miraculously. That is the power of faith!. The Lord that we serve is a merciful and generous God, H is always moved by our faith in Him, He does not want any evil or harm to befall us because He knows we trust Him and we believe Him.

In what do you trust? What is the foundation of your faith? God or gods? [Psalm 20:7] says “ Some trust in chariots, some in horses, but we will remember the name of the Lord our God”. Then verse 8 indicated the outcome of those who put their faith in something else, it says “…they are brought down and fallen; but we are risen and stand upright”. God never fails if you trust in Him with all thy heart without leaning unto your own understanding or any worldly things [Proverb 3:5]

Faith means putting your trust in God and having confidence that He will fulfill His promises. Faith is the anticipation that things revealed and promised through the Word are true, even though it is abstract [Hebrew 11:1]. Faith is very crucial to our daily walk in God. it is usually based on the objective Word of God. Faith makes it possible to see God and His mightiness and anyone who goes to God must believe in His existence [Hebrew 11:6]. Faith works from the Spiritual realm to make the impossible to be possible [Matthew 17:20]. It is through faith that we are saved by our internal conviction that Jesus is Lord [Roman 10:9]. Our faith in Christ makes us get justified as none of our works of the law can justify us because we all had sinned in one way or the other [Galatians 2:16]. With faith, we are made to be alive and we are able to live daily through faith [2 Corinthians 5:7] and through it, the glory of God is unleashed unto us [John 11:40]. Faith functions simultaneously with works as both are the prerequisite to receive divine favor and blessings from God.

Faith goes beyond passive belief, to have faith in Christ has to do with trusting and obeying His commandments. Our faith is best interpreted through our actions and the way we live our lives.
