Everyone is surrounded by temptation, even Jesus Christ was tempted in the wilderness, yet graciously, Christians can prepare themselves against stumbling during their tests by memorizing Scriptures about temptation. It must be noted that anybody can be tempted, each one with it’s limit of forbearance and perseverance, and according to it’s lust. The Bible made it clear that; “No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and He will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation, He will also provide a way of escape, that you may be able to endure it” {1 Corinthians 10:13}. We will not but be tempted by the tempter (devil) but God in His faithfulness hasafe way for us to overcome and only those who believe that Jesus is the Son of God will be the overcomer {1 John 5:5}. So Christians need to put on the armor of war through the Word of God in order to compete and prevail over every temptations.
Temptation usually arises through the excessive list towards worldly things {James 1:14} and the lust will procreate sin which them replicate into death {James 1:15}. God will never tempt anyone {James 1:13} but believers can fall into temptation when they are fsgged away by their own desires. Christians need to be extremely careful by their desires as it can speedily lure us into any form of temptation which the aftermath may result into death and eternal damnation.
Temptation is a situation in which one experiences a challenge to choose between fidelity and infidelity to one’s obligations towards God. Temptation presumes that God’s word has been given and connotes the covenant relationship. Adherence to the covenant is fidelity. When trial is introduced to man to freely choose between being faithful or unfaithful to God, then such man is exposed to temptation, that is why Jesus mandated everyone to pray against temptation {Matthew 6:13} so that we will not fall victim randomly into temptation {Luke 22:40} only Prayer can guide us. Every Christians are vulnerable to temptation because the tempter (devil) wants us to derail from the track of faithfulness and righteousness so that we can also pertals in his punishment in hell. That is why the Bible charged us to “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil (tempter), as a roaring lion, walks about, seeking for whom to devour” {1 Peter 5:8} it is a call to awareness for us all to always vw watchful about our activities on earth so that it may not lead us into temptation.
Cognizance must be taken into priority to observe that even being righteous and faithful does not mitigate the existence of temptation by the tempter; he can always wade a pool of circumstances to us so as to provide a tempest in the pool of wordly things. Job was outrightly faithful before the Lord, inspite of that, he was tempted by the devil through the permission of God, because the devil envied his righteousness. But, Job scaled through because he failed to deny God and his absolutely fidelity in conjunction with his faithfulness to God. Temptation can always be overcomes when you learn to refire back with the Word of God.
Though we are vulnerable to temptation, but we are more than a conqueror though Him that loved us {Romans 8:37}! With Him (JESUS), we will always conquer!!!
