Fear

The word Fear can be ambiguous because it can be acronymized into two distinct meanings that will render its rudimental and etymological purpose and function in the life of individual, especially believers.

   The first interpretation of this acronymic word is “Forget Everything And Run”. Yes, you read it right; for anyone to walk in Christ you have to surrender everything you possess (be it money, wealth or any materialistic things) And then Run  to God for Him to accept you  totally and take charge of your life.To fear the Lord is to stand in awe of his majesty, power, wisdom, justice and mercy, especially in Christ – in His life, death and resurrection – that is, to have an exalted view of God That is why the scripture says “The Fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom…” {Proverb 1:7} because all those who fear God are knowledgeable and are always satisfied and no evil will ever visit them {Proverb 19:23}. God is calling you now to revere Him because of His mightiness and He’s the Lord who fearfully made you {Psalm 139:14}. God delights in those who fear Him – those who stand in awe of him – and instead of leaning in their own human efforts

   The other interpretation of the acronymized  word  ‘FEAR’ is “Face Everything And Rise“ you are whom you think you are; no matter the circumstances of life, the Bible gives us millions of reasons to shun fear. We have already directed our only fear into the make and creator of things, therefore, we need not fear of anyone or anything anymore. “Of whom shall I be afraid?” {Psalm 27:1}, No one because “I will fear no evil…” {Psalm 23:4}, Why? For God is with us. The Bible made it clear that; “If God be for us, who shall be against us?” {Roman 8:31b}. God is surely with us, let us not be dismayed and perturbed, He is our God and our strength and He will always uphold us with His righteous right hand{Isaiah41:10}. The name of God is a haven secured by His Spirit, in it we are saved from every problems of life {Proverb 18:10}. The two acronymized meaning of fear thereby implore us to fear only God and be bold to all other things.

   Fear refers to an unpleasant emotion triggered by the belief that someone or something is hazardous, likely to incur pain, or a threat. We tend to tremble for worldly power, talent, intelligence, and beauty. But these things don’t impress God because His delight is not in the strength of the horse. As a true child of God, no form of fear should be accommodated in our heart because “God hath not given us the Spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of sound mind” {2 Timothy 1:7}. This is a manifestation that, having God as our only Father, gives us a divine security against any attack. Therefore, we are made strong and powerful in Him. Some Christians will claim they are afraid to preach the gospel, thereby allowing devil to inculcate fear in them in order to counteract the great commission to all men. I am glad to inform you now that God is beyond every evil, when you seek Him, He will deliver you from your fears {Psalm 34:4-8}. Anytime you are afraid, place your trust in God {Psalm 56:3-4} nothing can a mere mortal do to us; we serve an immortal God.

Seek God when He is near. Hide under His wings and ye shall locate solace and refuge {Psalm 91:4-5}
