Sacrifice

Mankind’s life is as a result of what was given up, what was forgone and what was submitted to. Humanity lives in a classical world of finding solace and comfort zones which as a result compel all races of being to have a reason to make certain sacrifice(s). Some sacrifices can be spoken of, some are comprehensible, some cannot be spoken of, some are incomprehensible, while others are rather too dogmatic, irrespective of the mode of sacrifice, it should be directed towards just one source (God); He demands a wholehearted living sacrifice from us towards the elevation of His Name. Some of us have failed to understand whom sacrifice belongs to and therefore, they are left reprobated. So many people give up themselves to money, lust and things of the world that would pass by {1 John 2:17} but only those whose sacrifice aligns with the Will of God can stand strong forever. Nothing can be attained from the devil without demanding for a Ransome as a payback either directly or indirectly and such demands (could be a soul) are the mandate most human pay because they have failed to seek solace from the right source. A sacrifice should be sought for not by make pursuing the earthly things but by securing the kingdom of God first. The Bible reveals how Jesus commanded all believers on how to make a sacrifice; “Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you” {Matthew 6:33}. Christians today have left the real purpose of sacrifice and are hereby seeking only the addition. Jesus knows what we desire and what we lack and He is capable enough to provide for our needs according to His riches in glory {Philippians 4:19}, all that is required of us is to seek first the kingdom of God. You are not told to seek first for money, fame, popularity, riches, wealth or lusts. All that was instructed as a sacrifice is seeking the kingdom of God first, and all other things will be granted.

Sacrifice means surrendering a possession as an offering to God by giving to the Lord whatever He required of our time, our earthly possession, and our energies to further His work. Relationship with God can be made stronger when we are ready to be submissive, devoted and suffer loss with Christ. The more sacrifices you make to God, the more He adds to our lives. If God could sacrifice His only son for the sake of mankind {John 3:16} then there is nothing too big whatsoever it be to sacrifice to God. Most sacrifices come in the form of praises to God {Jonah 2:9; Hebrews 13:15}, spiritual sacrifice {1 Peter 2:5}, a broken spirit {Psalm 51:17} and submission of all things {Proverb 3:9}. God wants us to offer ourselves wholesomely and wholeheartedly as a living sacrifice, living for Him with every part of our being. Sacrifice to God is a continuous process so as to keep strengthening our relationship with God. Forsake your abrupt ways and offer a living sacrifice only to a living God {Roman 12:1} as this is the truest sacrifice that can be made by living according to God’s purpose.

Remember, Jesus offered Himself for your sake, you must offer yourself to live for Him so that you can act Justly, Mercifully and Humbly as He did.
