Spiritual Warfare

A Christian cannot be spiritually dead because a Christian is someone who has the Holy Spirit living in him/her. Majority of church goers, I mean hearers of the word (who have not fully committed themselves to God) today are dead spiritually, they are full of the flesh and operate in their mortal body. Problems and challnges dealing with some people have made them dead in the spirit; thereby, they walk in flesh{Galatians 5:17}. Meanwhile, these problems can be rooted to spiritual attacks, principalities and powers not visible to the naked eyes; therefore, we need a spiritual warfare to attack back. No wonder apostle Paul said; “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, and against powers, against rulers of the darkness of age, against spiritual host of wickedness in the heavenly place” {Ephesians 6:12} our battle is not a physical combat but a spiritual battle and only those who trusts in the Lord will be able to stand till the end; because “some trust in their chariots, some in their horses; but we will remember the name of the Lord our God” {Psalm 20:7}. There is a spiritual combat in which every believers engage into consciously, others unconsciously and some subconsciously; however, this combat requires a spiritual weapon ‘Prayer’ which is mighty enough to pull down strong holds {2 Corinthians 10:4}. Christians need to be honest before God and humbly let the Spirit expose the strongholds in the darkness. As a child of God, it  is very paramount to safeguard your mind in order to win spiritual warfare and maintain your honest and faithful walk with God. Everyday, the devil works to undermine what God is doing through us and in us by hiding in a clouded mystery and confusion but Alas! Jesus said we should cheer up because He had conquered the world “be of good cheer, I have overcome the world” {John 16:33} Thank God for Jesus and Thank Jesus for God.

   The Christian concept of battling against the work of preternatural evil focus is regarded as spiritual warfare. It basically concentrates on the biblical belief in demons and evil spirits that intervene with God’s work in the life of believers. This is an indication that the Warfare is between the Sons of God and the kingdom of darkness, familiar spirits, demons and other spiritual warfares  – they all exist, but we don’t have to live in fear of the preternatural. We can do nothing apart from God. Which means we are nothing without God’s Spirit in us {Philippians 2:13}. With God, we are overcomers because the kingdom of God is with us. God has therefore given us a powerful weapon and accusation. He has given us His Word, the Bible, to remind us who He is, who we are, and what is true. We can have victory over satanic schemes by filling our minds with the truth of the Bible {Ephesians 6:10-11; 2 Thessalonians 3:3}

   “For all people will walk everyone in the name of his god, and we will walk in the name of the LORD our God forever and ever” {Micah 4:5} In what are you walking? You need to examine your footsteps, lifestyle, speech and mannerism, only those who walk with God and know their God will be strong enough to overcome spiritual attack and do exploits in all ramification of their endeavors {Daniel 11:32}. God is always with us {Isaiah 41:10} if we are willing to abide by Him and keep being Holy in all ways.

 The only weapon to successfully conquer every spiritual warfare is the Word of God. Engage tirelessly in the Bible and ye shall become an overcomer.
